PADI Full Open Water Diver Course/ Open Water Referral Course
If you want to start an adventure and learn how to scuba dive the PADI Open Water Diver Course is what you want!
With Amy's Scuba Connection we have some great options that allow you to progress through the course in a way that best meets your needs.
Learning to scuba dive can be broken down into three main components, Knowledge Development, Pool Lessons and Open Water Dives.
Knowledge development can be done in one of three ways:
1. Take our Home Study program. We give you a DVD, a text book and an instruction guide that explains how to use the DVD and text book to
build your knowledge.
2. You can take our eLearning option where we provide you with an access code that allows you to go on-line and take our on-line (eLearning)
course where you will build your knowledge. This is the most common option.
3. You can come to class. This is the old-school way, but for some people this may be the preferred method.
It is important to realize that both the Home Study and the eLearning approaches allow you to progress at your own speed and to do your learning on the days of the week and the times of the day that are best for you. The flexibility of these programs is what has made them so popular.
Pool Lessons will be on at the North Peace Leisure Pool on two Sunday evenings (expect to be in the pool for 2 hrs). All of what we learn about scuba diving is taught and practiced in a swimming pool. In the pool Amy works with only 2 students per class. This means you will have plenty of one on one attention to perfect your scuba skills
Open Water Dives consist of four different scuba dives done in the ocean, a lake, river or another natural body of water. For these we offer two options:
1. Local: for this option we use a local body of water. Diving locally is seasonal and requires exposure protection (you will be required to
purchase your own exposure suit). This option is our "Full Open Water Dive Course."
2. Tropical or any other part of the word you like: This is our “Open Water Referral Course.” Imagine that you do your knowledge
Development right here at home (using any of the three options listed above). Then you do your pool training here in town but instead of doing the four scuba dives necessary to finish your course here you decide you would like to do those in Hawaii, Mexico, Thailand, the Mediterranean or Caribbean! That’s right you could do that. PADI’s global network makes this possible through the Referral Program.
So, you have Knowledge Development (Home Study, eLearning or Classroom) followed by Pool sessions where you are taught all of the in-water skills and then Open Water Dives (Local or Referral to other cool places). That’s it, simple, fun and Amy’s Scuba Connection has everything you need to change up your game and have you become an underwater explorer. Give us a call or email today!
Course Prerequisites:
- You must be 13 years or older
- We prefer you own your own basic gear (mask, fins and snorkel). You can purchase High Quality Snorkel Gear through Amy's Scuba Connection. Talk to Amy about your options prior to your course.
Prices vary based on the course structure that you choose. Please contact Amy for course costs.
